Berkeley Patients Group Announces New Location

Embattled Berkeley dispensary Berkeley Patients Group has made good on its promise to keep serving patients in the East Bay after U.S Attorney Melinda Haag shut the venerated San Pablo club down this year. BPG has continued to run a delivery service, and today they announced their intentions to open a new storefront location at 2366 San Pablo Ave. Berkeleyside's Frances Dinkelspiel posted the story at 2 p.m., and updated it with the formal BPG announcement at 6:30 p.m.

It'll be interesting to see how Ms. Haag reacts to the news, if at all. BPG claims the site is at least 1,000 feet away from schools and parks. Ms. Haag used BPG's proximity to such sensitive land uses as an excuse to attack the club. But since then, she's used a dispensary's scale as a new excuse to target Harborside Health Center. BPG's new landlord presumably understands these facts, and is willing to tango with the tiger, as it were.
