Not only has Alameda’s Record Gallery, one of the oldest independent record stores in the Bay Area, recently been remodeled, but it’s also adding two businesses to its location on Webster Street. More Cowbell Vintage & Retro Fashions will offer clothes while the Golden Frog Curio & Emporium, relocated from Berkeley, will provide the toys to accompany whatever sounds you dig up. Try a bowling shirt and a plastic pistol to accompany that Chaka Khan album — or something equally nonsensical (or whimsical, if you prefer). The Record Gallery itself, which first opened in 1974, offers music memorabilia and CDs, LPs, and tapes specializing in rock, punk, metal, and more.
