Waiel and Kelly Majid are the heart and soul of this tiny, personal restaurant celebrating the food of the Mediterranean and Middle East, while keeping one foot firmly planted in Berkeley foodie culture. They make their own yogurt, eschew factory-farmed meat, and grow much of the produce in their backyard organic garden, but make no mistake, this is authentic hearty Middle East-inflected fare. The food is simple, often delicious (especially the mezza plates and kebabs), and a bit pricey. Choose wines from a small but smartly chosen list.
