Executive chef Jerry Regester is all about buying from the neighborhood, so to speak, sourcing produce and meats from a dream list of local vendors and farms. But the chef's impressive stack of invoices doesn't necessarily translate to success on the plate. A pity, since the restaurant's location in the midst of Livermore wine country not to mention the nosebleed-steep prices has you salivating for something pretty darn special. Oh, well: At least the view from the terrace approaches perfect.
