After developing a cookie dough recepie for William Sonoma, the owner of Sweet Adeline worked as a pastry chef for Garibaldis On College before opening this bakery. The restaurant/bakery features tea cakes, ginger sticks, peppermint patties, and chocolate cream pie complement cheese quiches, challah, and more. The establishment has free wi-fi as well as an outdoor seating area.

With pastries that run the gamut from wedding cakes to dog biscuits, a sunny corner location, and a perpetually smiley counter staff, Sweet Adeline may be the perfect neighborhood bakery. Cinnamon buns are dense and chewy, the lemon-ginger poundcake has a warm buzz, and killer chocolate pave wipes out the memory of all those indigestible flourless chocolate cakes you ate in the ’90s. A daily changing sandwich shows off the fine house breads — don’t miss the mustardy egg salad smeared between slabs of dimpled, salty focaccia.
