Stephanie Marohn

When: Thu., June 28, 7 p.m. 2012

Stephanie Marohn believes the bonds of love, communication, and learning between humans and animals travel both ways. In 1997, she and miniature horse Pegasus entered each others' lives, and out of the relationship came the Animal Messenger Sanctuary in Sonoma, a place for farm animals to live out their lives. What the Animals Taught Me: Stories of Love and Healing from a Farm Animal Sanctuary tells the tales of the animals Marohn has sheltered, loved, and learned from. Essential for anyone who loves our furry friends. She reads at Books Inc. (1760 Fourth St., Berkeley) on Thursday, June 28. 7 p.m., free. 510-525-7777 or BooksInc.net
