Re-Materializing the Book

When: Thu., Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m. 2012
Price: free

Peter Koch began designing and printing books in Montana in 1974 with just one press. After relocating to the Bay Area, Koch got a few more presses to work with and gained an international reputation for his high-quality work. Koch designs for research libraries, publishers, and private collectors, and, just for fun, designs, prints and publishes limited-edition works by poets, Greek philosophers, and the imagery of wood engravers and photographers. Koch firmly believes in the business side of fine-art printing -- collaborating with other artists to produce their visions -- and the more personal artistic side, as a way to express his own ideas about language and form. His shop in Berkeley happily accepts visitors, while Koch himself will give an informal talk titled Re-Materializing the Book at More Moe's (2476 Telegraph Ave., Fourth Floor, Berkeley) on Thursday, Dec. 6. 7:30 p.m., free. 510-849-2133 or
