Sister to the International Boulevard “Mexicatessen,” family-friendly Otaez lives large: massive room, massive menu, massive plates. The breakfast-lunch-dinner menu of classic Mexican fare ranges from scrambled eggs and chorizo to enchiladas. Such a big menu can produce a few duds, so look to the daily specials — albondigas (meatball) soup, carnitas, goat birria, pork posole. If you ever hope to clean your plate you’ll stay away from the warm paper-thin chips that start the meal. Good luck.
