During his first year in the bigs, Huston Street had his way with opposing batters and reporters. Inside the locker room, Street, just 21, smiled and said things like "Pardon me, sir" as he passed the media gruffs. He also said "Thank you, sir" after each interview, which induced more than one coronary implosion -- a pro athlete with impeccable manners? Yikes. Out on the mound, clad in a WWJD bracelet, Street graciously mowed down hitters while picking up the Rookie of the Year Award. Again, only his parents, apple pie, and God were responsible for such an achievement. In still photos of his pitching motion, careful viewers will notice the young man pokes his tongue out above his upper lip in a fashion usually found on stuffed animals and small children. It's downright cuddly. This year, Street has continued with his innocence, even if he has blown a game and suffered a slight injury. Regardless, he still says the darnedest things while fielding questions about his alleged miscues. Such as "Thank you, sir."
