Four artists find new ways to explore luminosity and perception. Cathy Cunningham-Little's wall-mounted light boxes ("Blue Transformation") contain geometrically shaped neon-tube forms that emit radiant auras from behind layered diffusing filters; "Cataracts," with its pupillary slit, refers to corneal blindness while suggesting wave patterns diffracting in air and water. Amy Ho's "Wall Space III" installation dissolves a gallery wall with its projected virtual-corridor imagery (shot from a miniature model), perfectly aligned with the existing floor and walls -- 3D trompe-l'oeil. KeiraKotler's meditative abstractions on acrylic, composed of multiple layers of pigmented urethane ("Untitled 17 (Cut Painting)"), suggest the airbrushed and stripe paintings of the 1960s, but here dematerialized, floating, and luminous. Kana Tanaka's installation, "Expecting," with its scores of suspended glass beads, suggests glistening spiderwebs, astronomical charts, and the digital mapping of organic structures. Lightspace runs through Sept. 24 at Chandra Cerrito Contemporary (480 23rd St., Oakland). 415-577-7537 or ChandraCerritoContemporary.com
