The vibrant tastes and textures of West Africa are served up in a friendly and welcoming (if bare-bones) Senegalese eatery tucked away in Oakland’s Koreatown. Although the salty, smoky flavors of the palm oil-based stews and sauces may be overly intense for the uninitiated, the meat-filled pastries and the grilled fish, chicken, and lamb dressed with lemony, slow-roasted onions are accessibly delectable. House-made beverages of ginger, hibiscus, and mango are absolutely refreshing; get the teranga (sweetened yogurt with fresh fruit) for dessert.
