Maybe as a result of being criticized for remaking his old movies again and again, Pedro Almodóvar evidently decided to remake someone else’s instead — Airplane!, the 1980 airline disaster flick spoof by Jim Abrahams and David and Jerry Zucker. Almodóvar does it his way: tequila in the cockpit, mescaline cocktails in first class, flight attendants smoking weed in the galley and lip-synching the Pointer Sisters’ title song, sex all over the plane, etc. It’s fun for nearly half the flight, with energetically campy perfs by Javier Cámara, Raúl Arévalo, and Carlos Areces, plus Cecilia Roth as a chic matron with a dirty secret. And then we want to land and get on with our business. (95 min.)
