Save to foursquare

Launched in 2010, Roland Robles’ roving burger truck gives the lie to the meme that new-school food trucks are hopelessly bougie. Robles just might be the hardest hustling mobile vendor in the East Bay, steering his quilted-steel converted taco truck from lunch in Emeryville to happy hours out front of Oakland bars to nighttime munchy service up and down the five-one-oh. If you read the ingredient list it’s clear these burgers could qualify as “artisan” — especially if you spring for the grass-fed beef option — but they’re big and satisfying enough to feel anything but precious. Don’t miss the garlic fries, tossed with roasted garlic oil made right on the truck. Follow location via website, Facebook (, or Twitter (@fivetenburger).
