Easter at Bocanova

When: Sun., March 31, 11:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. 2013

On Easter Sunday, Mar. 31, Bocanova (55 Webster St., Oakland) will serve fanesca, an Ecuadorian soup that is traditionally eaten only during the week preceding Easter. Made with twelve different beans and grains and milk-cooked salt cod, the elaborate soup will be served -- as is likewise traditional -- with fried plantains, hard-boiled eggs, onion salsa, and empanadas. Also on chef-owner Rick Hackett's special Easter menu is pounded mustard-marinated lamb-leg steaks a la plancha. 11:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m., various prices. 510-444-1233 or Bocanova.com
