Color My World

Jennifer Ing

Came to the East Bay 25 years ago from Cambodia after fleeing the Khmer Rouge. She and her husband own Boogie Woogie Bagel Boy in Alameda, and have a son studying engineering at UC Santa Cruz.

Sontepheap Market (1400 International Blvd., Oakland). Ing's favorite place to buy traditional Cambodian foods and vegetables.

Battambang Restaurant (850 Broadway, Oakland). Her favorite Cambodian restaurant in the Bay Area; she comes here regularly for sweet-and-sour soup and beef salad.

Alliance Christian Church (San Jose). A huge international congregation with lots of Cambodian parishioners.

Ing and her husband stay close to their Alameda home on weekends. They like to drive around the island and hang out in the city's Washington Park (740 Central Ave., Alameda).
