Christmas International Vegetarian Cuisine Dinner & Concert

When: Wed., Dec. 25, 3-7 p.m. 2013
Price: free
If you’re hankering for a less traditional Christmas feast (or you’re going stir crazy from being home with family all day), head to Badarikashrama (15602 Maubert Ave., San Leandro) to add some actual spice to your festivities. Enjoy a delicious, homemade vegetarian dinner including North and South Indian fare like palau (vegetable rice), chana masala (spiced garbanzo beans), and sambar (spicy lentil soup with vegetables). For the purists, there will be Western food as well. Then, those in need of a break from Christmas carols can listen to three of the top Carnatic musicians in the Bay Area, Srikanth Chary, Hrishikesh Chary, and Natarajan Srinivasan, perform a South Indian Carnatic instrumental concert.
