For more than twenty years Simone Herault has been cooking simple dishes from her homeland for diners on the Piedmont strip, and she hasn't changed her formula since she opened. There's been no need: tiny Chez Simone is a slightly tatty charmer, and part of the charm comes from the chef-proprietor herself. The minuscule menu offers quiches, omelets, and crepes, plus a couple of more substantial daily specials. Spend a night on the second-floor landing with its rickety tables, vine-covered trellis, and fairy lights, and you'll fall under Simone's spell.
