For years now, the A's have been one of the thriftiest teams in terms of player salaries. But what good is spending money on players if it means none of the locals can afford to buy tickets? That's certainly the case for that other Bay Area team, where you have to cash in some stocks and bonds just to get a decent seat. Over here in the East Bay, we like our baseball on the cheap. No matter what your budget, anyone can afford an A's ticket on Wednesdays. Sure, the seats are way up on the top row, and yeah, they stopped selling $1 Cokes to go with the $1 hot dogs, but all that stuff is extra when you can sit back on a cool spring night and watch Eric Chavez ding one over the fence, or Bobby Crosby stealing second. At $2 a pop, even Darryl Strawberry could afford one of these seats.
