This family-friendly Berkeley institution has retooled its menu under co-owners Jeff Wizig and Roger Feuer, and the results are impressive: bruschetta with prosciutto, goat cheese, and lavender honey; moist, smoky grilled salmon with capers and field greens; an array of hearty house-made pastas (the radicchio-filled ravioli with pine nut butter and asparagus is especially dreamy). The gnocchi and the panna cotta are on the leaden side, but the silken semifreddo makes a stellar dessert. Fun "old country" ambience.
