The mantra is simple food done very well. Nearly everything — from the dressings to the desserts and the soups to the sauces — is made in-house. Café Aquarius serves locally roasted shade-grown coffee as well as beer and wine. Come for breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch, or just for a cup of joe. If you fancy a cup of tea, the selection is top-notch.

Patrick Feehan opened Cafe Aquarius in 2007 after many years spent learning the pastry trade. A nationwide search for an executive chef led him to Marianne Zdobysz, whose past gigs include Seattle's Boca, Blowfish, and Madison Park Café. Her lemon-ricotta pancakes are the restaurant's signature dish: sunny yellow and float-away light. Palio coffee augments neo-comfort food served in generous portions: egg dishes, burgers, sandwiches, daily specials, and soups. All sauces here are made from scratch; another standout is the bone-jarringly good biscuits in sausage-studded country gravy.
