Day Around the Bay in Music: Eddie Vedder Coming to Oakland, Forum on Musicians and Health Care

1) Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder is embarking on a solo tour this summer in support of his forthcoming album, Ukulele Songs, according to the Contra Costa Times, which likens Vedder's effort to Tiny Tim. Vedder plays the Paramount Theater July 11, tickets go on sale April 1.

2) The Bay Bridged unveils a new video by The Dodos, "Black Night," and lets us know that we can stalk Bob Mould at the Lone Star tonight, where he'll be DJing.

3) Bottom of the Hill is hosting a forum for musicians and health care called "Every Musician Insured: Understanding Health Care Reform" on Thursday, March 31. Figure out how to find affordable health insurance or get care if you don’t have insurance. 4-5:30 p.m., free.

4) We can all breathe a sigh of relief: Gilman’s site is back up. Tonight is ska night.

5) Looking ahead, Era Art Bar & Lounge is celebrating its one year anniversary on Saturday, April 9. There will be Ketel One cocktails, a fashion, art, photography display, and tunes with DJ Hector.

6) Off the Record wants you to check out Moccretro (Brainwash Café), Teenage Dance Craze (The Knockout), and Ty Segall (Verdi Club) tonight.

7) Our favorite metal blog, Invisible Oranges, talks to Neurosis' Steve Von Till about writing and recording Souls at Zero.

8) 4AD unveils the new video for the tUnE-yArDs’ “Bizness.”
