The East Bay is home to some of the worst-kept roads in the nation, according to a new report. The Chron and Trib note that Oakland and San Francisco are tied for the second for having the most deteriorated roads in the country. In addition, the East Bay has thirteen of the eighteen worst-kept state highways in the Bay Area.
The East Bay’s worst is Highway 13 — from Broadway Terrace in Oakland, down through Ashby Avenue to Seventh Street in Berkeley. It’s rated the second worst in the Bay Area. Interstate 880 from 42nd Avenue to Broadway in Oakland is rated as the fourth worst.
