Established in 1997, this Tenderloin-district venue is the political and cultural epicenter of Filipino arts in San Francisco and, arguably, the country. In addition to hosting theater performances, workshops, and children’s programs, it also features occasional music shows, usually indie-rock and hip-hop bands that appeal to conscious, arts-oriented youth. But be prepared to climb several flights of stairs to see them in a small room where kids sit on the floor between bands. A word of warning: There’s no bathroom.
