This article sure makes a mountain out of a mole hill. Even with the present laws its is actully very expensive and tricky to convert an apartment building into condos.

I think Oakland has improved in many ways in the last 15 years from the un documented prople living here.

Sadly most people who talk about solving the homeless problem know little about its cause. 90% of the time its drug abuse and mental instability. Which is different than just lack of affordable housing.

I wonder what Uber saw in Oakland in the first place? What changed their minds? Did the city put up its usual anti anything road blocks and discouraged them? Is their business model stalling?l wonder.

I wonder why there are so many 70 year and older representatives in office and keep getting reelected. How could they possibly have the energy to do their jobs. I'm now in my 60's with no health problems and I know personally how stamina and passion for work can fall off.
