Best Tattoo/Piercing Parlor

Tattoo Archive

"C.W. Eldridge, Artist-Historian" proclaims the business card of the Tattoo Archive's owner and operator. That's because it's not just a tattoo parlor, but also a museum, and Eldridge is its curator. His small lobby is covered floor-to-ceiling with flash art from decades (even centuries!) gone by. He sells all kinds of tattoo-related memorabilia, and his rotating entryway display currently features a retrospective of patriotic tattoo designs throughout history. A Navy vet, Eldridge has been decorated by tattoo artists all over the world, and he has studied under some of the most illustrious names in the business. These days he divides his time between his shop, the Paul Rogers Tattoo Research Center (a nonprofit he co-manages with fellow tattooists Alan Govenar, Don Ed Hardy, and Henk Schiffmacher), and his quarterly newsletter, The Archive File, which is circulated around the world. Eldridge does beautiful work; make an appointment if you want a tattoo, but feel free to drop in anytime for a look around.
