Bobby's Backdoor Cajun BBQ

Here's where it gets real. If you're tired of such pretensions as flatware and dinner plates that other, more hoity-toity restaurants offer, then Bobby's will offer a bit of welcome relief. Be prepared to spend around 20 bucks or so, but for that you'll get a big heap of chicken, ribs, beef, and links piled high in a Styrofoam container. Ask nicely, and you'll get matching Styrofoam plates. The restaurant is located in the back of Alvarado Gardens, and the genial chatter of the bar lilts over the dining room. Doesn't matter. You'll be too enchanted with the sides of bright yellow potato salad, pretty awesome baked beans, and Roman Meal bread to listen to the witty remarks being passed down the bar. Going to Bobby's is worth both the clogged arteries and the baleful gazes your vegan friends will send your way.
