The Compound Gallery and Studios always had a lot to offer, but when it expanded last year to add the Institute of Fabrefaction, it became a full-blown artistic wonderland. Now, the complex — which is more than 12,000 square feet — has three art galleries, 27 artist studios, a wood shop, a letterpress, an etching station, a screen printing station, a metal shop, a ceramics studio and an “art lab” equipped with 3D printers. On top of that, the Compound also produces Compound LIVE art TV, which includes livestreaming of artist talks, performances, and art-making demos. It also puts together Art in a Box, a program that allows art enthusiasts to sign up to receive original artwork from Compound artists every month. In short, it’s a little art city that you’ll never want to leave.
