For the skeptics, the uptight, or those new to practicing Eastern medicine, Dennis W. von Elgg is a perfect guide. Von Elgg, who is also an instructor of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, is extremely calming and great at what he does. It's hard to imagine him as anything but an acupuncturist because his presence is so soothing; somehow during his sessions, it is easy to forget he's putting needles in your skin. Von Elgg's business has an element focused on fertility, using Chinese herbs and traditions. Very happy patients have been known to pass his name around after becoming pregnant in one cycle. He truly believes in the practice of Chinese medicine and went beyond books to educate himself. During his career, von Elgg traveled to the Sichuan Province in China, working and studying at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. He worked in multiple areas including pain management, respiratory, GI and liver disorders, diabetes, stroke rehabilitation, and age-related illnesses.
