Save to foursquare

Taking up residence in Cafe Fanny’s old digs, Bartavelle Coffee and Wine Bar is a tiny, friendly place offering simple, exquisitely crafted fare. Try a savory board of smoked trout, radish, housemade pickles, and white-bean purée for a lazy afternoon at the outside tables. Or try the sweet porridge, a unique bowl of red rice and quinoa, swimming in cream and a puddle of melted butter. The French and Italian wines — all from next-door neighbor Kermit Lynch — can be ordered by the half glass, which lets you try a few at an affordable price.
