An Evening with Angela Davis

When: Wed., April 17, 7 p.m. 2013
Price: $15

Throughout her long career as an activist, author, professor, and all-around scathing badass, Angela Davis has always come back to a single question: What is the meaning of freedom? On Wednesday, Apr. 17, join Davis at the First Congregational Church of Berkeley (2435 Channing Way, Berkeley) in commemoration of Palestinian Prisoners' Day and the 25th anniversary of the Middle East Children's Alliance, where she will present parts of her 2012 book, The Meaning of Freedom: And Other Difficult Dialogues. In arguing for a free Palestine, Davis returns to her theme of the "indivisibility of justice," but what that freedom will look like is a different question altogether. 7 p.m., $15. 510-548-0542 or MECAforPeace.org
