In the two-plus years since Homeroom opened on a formerly quiet block in North Oakland, it’s become known for its crunchy-on-top, creamy-in-the-middle, gut-busting-in-a-good-way mac ’n’ cheese — and, of course, the long waits that invariably come with it. Fortunately for all of us, the restaurant’s founders have now written a cookbook containing step-by-step instructions for many of Homeroom’s best-loved dishes, including the addictive Sriracha Mac, the deliciously lowbrow Trailer Mac, the seeming-contradiction-in-terms Vegan Mac, and a bevy of desserts and sides. They’ll present The Mac + Cheese Cookbook at Mrs. Dalloway’s (2904 College Ave., Berkeley); no line required.
