Aeroplane

When: Thu., April 10, 9 p.m. 2014
Price: $15
Aeroplane — originally a duo but now the solo project of Italian-Belgian producer Vito de Luca — made its name by crafting stupendously fun, shiny remixes of songs by the likes of Cut Copy, MGMT, and Flight Facilities. Unlike many of his peers, de Luca isn’t afraid to slow things down and get groovy. Part of the reason his sets are so engaging is because he draws from an array of sources: You’re as likely to hear George Benson’s 1980 disco hit “Give Me the Night” as you are the latest track posted on MP3 aggregator blog The Hype Machine. This Thursday, De Luca will cultivate his signature joyful vibe on the dance floor at Mezzanine (444 Jessie St., San Francisco) by meshing tropical sounds with Balearic beats and French house music.
