A Thousand Ways to Kiss the Ground

When: Feb. 5-March 20 2010
Price: free

A recent shipment from Ninkasi Brewing Company earned gushing reviews from the beer-drinkers at East Bay Express. "Good and filling -- the perfect buzz for a cold winter night," said one reviewer of Believer Double Red, a roasted malt with hints of caramel. "Great after-dinner beer," wrote another esteemed critic, after sipping the Oatis Oatmeal Stout for about an hour and marveling at its "stouty goodness." He continued: "I especially love beers that come two-to-bottle." (Most Ninkasi brews are available in 22-ounce bottles as well as on draft). As for the Total Domination IPA? Well, the name is apropos of a drink that touts its "floral" qualities. Samples of Ninkasibeers will be available at Chandra Cerrito Contemporary Gallery (480 23rd St., Oakland) during Art Murmur this Friday, Mar. 5. While you're there boozing, check out the current exhibition, A Thousand Ways to Kiss the Ground. Featuring works by Mari Andrews and Sheila Ghidini, it includes nest drawings, beeswax, and a rusted tricycle with a tree branch growing from its handlebars. 6-9 p.m., free. ChandraCerrito.com
