Bruce Willis spanks Russia, but that’s not as much fun as it sounds. Something about NYPD detective John McClane (Willis), his CIA agent son (Jai Courtney), a dissident Russian politico (Sebastian Koch), and a trip to Chernobyl, opening with a headache-inducing CGI demolition derby in downtown Moscow (shot in Budapest, Hungary) and going downhill from there. By the time director John Moore and writers Skip Woods and Roderick Thorp get through with it, McClane’s Russian vacation is the Big Whocares-ski. Willis is usually more careful in choosing his “comeback” jobs. He’ll get over this. (97 min.)
