By your logic, Jane Brunner is also responsible for the crime spike, because she opposes expanding the gang injunctions and implementing a youth curfew:

And yet the police union obviously does not blame Brunner for the crime spike, because the union is heavily backing her campaign. So why do you have a double-standard with Kaplan?

More important: Are you honestly contending that expanding gang injunctions and instituting a youth curfew would do more to reduce crime in Oakland than hiring more police?

If so, then you should say as much.
