Bobb's departure was foreordained when Oakland went to the strong mayor system, effectively downgrading the administrators then-considerable city manager powers.

But so what?

Didn't Edgerly have another nephew who worked for Oakland's Animal Control services and committed attrocities? I read that somewhere, but I don't remember where.

Frequently left out of the Uptown ballpark fantasy story is the fact that then-owner of the A's, Steve Schott, said repeatedly, on record and to the press, that he was not interested in an Uptown location.

In any case, whatever Brown should have or shouldn't have done, the mess is in Dellums's hands now, and he's done a deplorable job of dealing with it.

Jerry Brown and his developer friends and business partners were as crooked as they come. It's no big surprise if he hired or promoted Edgerly and a bunch of other local crooks and allowed them to hire their ignorant, crooked, unqualified friends and family.
