An earlier version of this story stated that Oscar Grant was shot while handcuffed. In fact, the exact state of his hands at the time of the shooting is apparently a matter under dispute. -- Editor

Bay Guardian Editor Tim Redmond reports that the Appeals Court was wrong on the issue of a settlement. "There have been settlement talks but the case has not settled," he said today.
