Re: “The Bacon-Wrapped Economy

Totally unfocused article. Sorry, but I find nothing wrong with young people in tech having their own taste and sense of what they enjoy in the arts, or pushing away the 'old guard' and redefining what it means to be 'wealthy' - if that means dressing down and not being showy what's wrong with that? And funding kickstarter campaigns for DIY types and artists who can use the funding vs. spending it on champaign in clubs like rich bankers - isn't that a healthy leap forward? Having new means of funding something like an all american hand made hoodie, designed to not fall apart, last 10 years, not be waste, curb disposability & consumerism - isn't that a win for everyone? All the labor that goes into digging the holes, throwing the parties, the drivers of the new cabs, personal assistants, etc - a boom for everyone involved? There are indeed some REAL problems with the local economy such as pushing renters out, rent prices, gentrification, but this article doesn't focus on any of them and shoots itself in the foot by the 'problems' it does mention.
