I agree with Jan; many pet rescue organizations can help you get stared with trapping, fixing and releasing back these cats. Feral cat colonies that continue to breed can cause many problems from serious inbreeding resulting in unhealthy, suffering cats to rampant disease and contagious sickness that can spread to domestic cats in your neighborhood. They also fight a lot which can be a problem for domestic cats (injury) and people (noise, expense of treating their own cats once affected).
