The mishandling of the sexual assaults by Choudhry is outrageous and symptomatic of the failure of U.C. Berkeley to protect women students and employees and to provide them with
a safe and respectful environment. Choudhry does not deserve to remain a paid member of the faculty. He needs consequences for his crimes.

We need an even more accessible solution. I like to walk up the hill from my house for exercise and must pass under the freeway where I often have to walk in the street because of all the dumped items, including leaking paint and other chemicals coming out of containers.
The Humanist Center has an important history in our community providing us with a center that is affordable to working-class people. I have attended a range of events there ranging from a talk by a local journalist returned from the Middle East to my friends combination birthday celebration/art show. The city needs to work with the center not label it a nuisance or impose unreasonable fines.
I am sorry this happened to Juanita and her friends. I hope Berkeley rep reflects on the situation to avoid this in the future, and considers the constructive suggestions for making the theater more welcoming to diverse audiences.
Thank you for this hopeful piece. I felt very depressed after reading Matt Taibbi's "Secrets and Lies of the Bailout" in the Rolling Stone about the filthy corrupt banker/politician class running our economy. This article shows ways that we can begin to oppose this corruption at a community level.
