Oakland, Berkeley, And East Bay News, Events, Restaurants, Music, & Arts
Where is the man behind the curtain, Oz? This article hits the industry's physiological manipulations on the head. Sadly that is exactly where we are headed - real food for the 1% only - ironic that the elite want us to walk into it willingly or be branded as elitist. Soylent Green, anyone? Until then I will stick to avoiding GMOs and pesticides, and doing so on a budget, thank you. It's simple - bulk beans for soups. Rice, pasta. Bake muffins and dinner biscuits for at home with organic baking powder - surprisingly easy!:) Non-soy, non-dairy protein powder, nut milks, and frozen organic fruit for smoothie breakfasts and desserts for kid's - and adults!:) Pay extra for organic oils too (especially if they are potentially GMO) and organic animal foods with the $$ you save on processed food, drinks, eating out, tech gadgets, etc. It's about priorities - I'd rather be a healthy snob than a sick sheep!
