Re: “Drakes Bay Oyster Company Turns to Koch Brothers-Linked Group

Dianne Feinstein objected to the Lunny's treatment too. Is she owned by the Koch brothers? This is a nasty smear article. Did you somehow miss the fact that the National Park Service falsified information in an effort to influence the decision? You've actually got a hell of a nerve talking about privatizing public land---how did this land get into the NPS anyway? It belonged to the ranchers and farmers in the area. This is a lease--get it? For a use that has been there for 90 years.

Your bias is just rotten. Who gives a damn if these people found someone who would represent them in court in a dirty deal by the government? Pro bono? For free. Would you turn down legal assistance? Since when is the government so cool that you would trash a family producing 40% of the state's oysters sustainably, locally, and family-owned? Aren't you in favor of sustainability?

What in the world is the problem with the East Bay Express? Do you think that your bias isn't obvious? Private property rights mean nothing to you? I'll bet you're a bunch of hypocrites who would never be ok with this happening to you or your families. You should read up on the difference between designated wilderness and potential wilderness. What Salazar is looking for here is designated wilderness---no permanent human activity. How long before designated wilderness allows no human activity at all? The idea may appeal to you but the more land that is only there to be gazed upon by bicyclists, the more land that is not productive, not feeding you, not providing jobs, recreation, the more you're going to feel it in your condo on top of a shop on College Avenue.

This is not a conservative viewpoint, by the way. I am a liberal but I'm not determined to view life in simplistic red and blue terms. Take off your blinders and look at your government.
