Re: “We're Fighting Over Scraps

Has marijuana been cleared as a "medicine" by the FDA? You have to wonder why they give this a pass while they break b@lls of some manufacturer of a skin cream that "reduces wrinkles".

Re: “We're Fighting Over Scraps

"Instead, the arguments du jour concern whether BART station agents and train operators deserve modest raises after years of pay cuts,"

??? Pay cuts???

WHAT BART WORKERS RECEIVE NOW
The average union worker makes $114,000 a year in wages and benefits. Even without an increase in salary, the cost of simply maintaining the current benefits for BART employees over the next four years accounts for nearly half of BART’s four-year shortfall. To illustrate the order of magnitude, just to maintain benefits is the equivalent to a 15% increase in total compensation

Re: “It's Time for the Union Fighting to Stop

When you lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas. Unions destroyed the auto industry, have bankrupted local and state governments, and now they're working on the federal government.

Re: “The Case for Censure

" The Oakland school board made the right move last week when it voted 4-3 to revoke the charters of the three American Indian Model Schools in the city...even though they have some of the highest test scores in the state."

Can't stand for that. Back to the reservation.

Re: “Compelling Evidence That the Nation Has Moved Left

Conservative era? There has not been a single year when taxes or government spending has gone down in more than half a century. Turning the clock back 5000 years is not progressive.

Re: “Who's Profiting from Oakland's Gun Violence?

"That's why this article emphasizes changes that can be made on the level of industry regulations, marketing, and sales, and not so much on laws that would focus on the behavior of individuals."

So your conclusion is that it's not the behavior of criminals you think needs addressing, but the lawful actions of those involved in the gun business. The beat goes on...

Re: “Who's Profiting from Oakland's Gun Violence?

You're part of a nation-wide campaign to disarm the citizens of this country. The dissenting voice of the press. The people of this country feel differently, save the women. You might ask yourself, if the number of citizens opposed to individual gun ownership were so large, why is it that getting legislation passed is so difficult? They politicians are more afraid of the voters than their contributors.
