Re: “Society Can No Longer Afford to Ignore Climate Change

Soon you will not have a choice. When power grids start failing around the world and droughts become more widespread...clean water will become more and more scarce. States of emergency and perhaps even martial law will be declared and humans will necessarily be forced to part with their petty attachements to SUVS and big houses and other wasteful indulgences of the human ego. People dont want to lose their big SUVs however humanity if faced with an unprecedented crises. Most are not intelligent enough to connect the dots so they simply brush off ACC (anthropogenic climate change) and ignorantly say "it isn't my problem". But yes it is your problem...your problem, my problem, and everyone's problem it is...and it threatens the very survival of humanity.

Re: “Society Can No Longer Afford to Ignore Climate Change

As Nicholas said above...most people "don't care" because they are pre-occupied with present concerns. This type of mentality reflects a low level of consciousness and intelligence and a faulty morality and deficient ethic. If climate change goes without being addressed, then you won't have to concern yourself with the present...there will not be a present moment for humanity on Earth. The costs of climate change are already skyrocketing and will eventually bankrupt the world. Water is becoming scarce and will become even more scarce as the crises accelerates. Humans will be fighting WW3 over clean water withing the next 5- 10 years. The droughts in the midwest last year cost $5 Billion. Humanity is sleeping and most are in an unconscious stupor due to accumulated fear, shame, and other psychic blinders. Such people go into denial as a defense mechanism to protect their fragile dysfunctional egos. Yet, humanity cannot afford it any longer and cannot afford to ignore climate change. There is no longer any time to give the uneducated and morally challenged an opportunity to jump on board with the scientific facts. We must act now before it is too late for our children. As it is now, climate change is no longer a debate but is an ever accelerating experiential reality.
