Re: “Dianne Feinstein's War

What a strange issue this is…
As an "environmentalist," I'm also interested in sustainable sources of protein for public consumption and as an alternative to big industrial farms. That said, I know of few farms that are as environmentally friendly as an oyster farm. Oyster farms have no fertilizer, no feed, and they filter the water of the bay, something that isn't being done naturally because of the absence of native species. And because of regulations, the oyster farm isn't allowed to grow, cultivate, or even reestablish the native population. It's also been reported that there was a Federal EIS report that was created with bad science according to some independent scientists from Cal Academy that responded to the Federal EIS.

What does seem to be serious, the oyster farm aside, is the lease renewal. My understanding is this could set a bad precedence and this scares environmentalists. I wonder if this is really the underlying issue, and not the operation of Drake's Farm.
