I'm going to add my two cents, though there isn't alot to say that hasn't already been said. Rachel Swan does a disservice to a community that she does not really understand with an article full of factual inaccuracies and misapprehensions. But it's also true, that MANY people don't understand tango the first time around, and yet tango is still here with us, art form of survival and improvisation above all else. If you stick around, Rachel, you will see and feel the life that pulses within the "scratchy recordings" that you dismiss. You will also understand that Trio Garufa are the inheritors, not the challengers, of that tradition. Don't leave quite yet - you will have missed the real essence of the thing that you were trying to write about. And Trio Garufa, thank you, your latest album is beautiful.
