Re: “"Quiet Storm" Brand May Dissolve in Wake of KBLX Sale”
This is so sad! I'm going to miss the combination of Cousin Kev with Nikki Thomas! They were such a fun and awesome team, and none of the other urban radio stations could touch their entertaining magic. I tuned solely to KBLX every morning in my car as I head to work as a public school Music Teacher. I can't tell you how their presence really put me in a much better place in the morning before I go through my rough-and-tumble day with school kids.
And in all honesty, I can already tell the playlist is A LOT different. KBLX played some deep or rare cuts that are not normally played on any other station that I've heard here in the Bay Area. I appreciated that so much! It was always a pleasure to here a rare cut from ElDebarge, or that dope remix that Mary J. Blige did, which I forgot about from years ago, or a deep cut from Ohio Players I had never heard before but now want to research and learn about! I wish this wouldn't happen and I pray that the old KBLX will come back. There's nothing like having local people on our local radio. NOTHING.
