Oakland, Berkeley, And East Bay News, Events, Restaurants, Music, & Arts
Now I realize why I was so uncomfortable as a one-time visitor of the restaurant. I was intrigued by the range of 'extremes' I saw and felt there with the employees. The problem with assuming that any one "ego-opener" is right for "a group" is assuming that you know more than the "higher power" of the individual to know his or her right way of opening. It's very bullying and it's ironic that one of the spokespeople justified the bullying as enthusiasm and a desire for the employees to benefit--isn't this like the justification all Christian zealots use for rights violations? Bullying is a form of abuse. Spiritual truth is never abusive.
Good for those who stand their ground in this place. Gratitude for them!
