Re: “Coal Terminal Developer Suing City of Oakland, Seeking to Overturn Ban on Fossil Fuel Exports

Tagami, you bloodthirsty pig, isn't it time you went scouting for some other community to rape & pillage? Have we not suffered enough of your insatiable greed?

Re: “Stop Blaming Artists and Musicians for the Ghost Ship Fire. Blame People In Power Who Screwed Up.

I'm already fed up with the feeding frenzy by many in our own community, and even more beyond the city limits, whose aim seems to be to exploit this atrocity. To each and every one of them I say; if you can't find a way to use your voice/power/energy to come to the aid of those who have suffered unbearable loss, or for those who stand to lose, then shut your mouths and get out of the way.

Re: “Save Oakland Art

Again, I'll voice my indictment directly toward our so-called "arts" mayor, Libby Schaff, as I feel she should be held personally and primarily responsible for TAKING ACTION as a champion for the Oakland arts community by stepping up immediately to stop this bleeding. Schaff used Oakland artists and the Oakland arts community at large as her personal, free marketing campaign, cleverly branding herself as the arts mayor, yet she has not done a damned thing to show up for that same community now that she's mayor and the community is falling apart at the seams. The City, Schaff and her predecessor have enjoyed the fruits of Oakland's arts community for years now by way of enormous publicity from newspapers and travel journals etc, touting Oakland's "thriving" arts community. Well, the community isn't thriving now is it, and I don't see those same journals publishing stories about the struggle. It's about time to demand that Schaff do something to save the Oakland arts community she pretends to support.

Re: “Will Oakland Lose Its Artistic Soul?

I agree with Kerri Lee Johnson's comment about holding Oakland's City Council's feet to the fire, and I continue to challenge our self-proclaimed "arts" mayor to personally and immediately step-up in actual support of the artists, artisans, and independent arts-related businesses who are 100% responsible for the Oakland renaissance. Schaff, in particular, has a unique responsibility to this community. She has exploited the arts community and used it as her brand, but hasn't done a thing to support it. To Schaff I say; Put your power and influence as mayor where our mouth is.

Re: “Oakland Aims to Allow Food Trucks to Operate All Over the City

"After that, Reiff will write a draft of the actual ordinance, which he hopes will be ready to be reviewed by the planning commission in late April or May. From there, the law would need to be discussed at two city council meetings before getting passed into law." This is Oakland city council speak for "don't hold your breath."

Re: “Where Will Rock Paper Scissors Collective Go?

Where's our Patron Saint of the Arts Mayor now? What's up Libby, snail car unavailable for your photo op? This is an Oakland Arts Institution and you oughta get to steppin on using your artsy fartsy might to keep RSP in business.

Re: “Can Realtors Rebrand Oakland?

Disappointing that no actual residents (other than one council member), or any of the numerous neighborhood associations were quoted in this piece. Because of that, I find this article a waste of time, and a continued disservice to the people who actually live in this area, many of whom have strong opinions about this topic.
