Re: “The Flap Over Feelmore

I think this is phenomenal. Sex-positive shops that bring a forward thinking, progressive and holistic sexual culture to a Oakland should have the support of the community especially if they're willing to support comprehensive sex education in the local schools. Black business owners are becoming an anomaly, especially those in the arts. Supporting businesses like Feelmore510 will give young entrepreneurs of color initiative and incentive to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

The duality of Sex + Black women has for hundreds of years had a negative connotation in this country. Assumed naturally lascivious women of color's sexual interests, solely erotic or generative have been looked down upon and cheapened. Now, a black woman owning a sex-positive parlor in which spirituality and sexual education are enmeshed could prove to be a great educational resource for those who are still misinformed about black women and sex. #Diversity

I am ecstatic to see what Joiner's business will offer and I will support her and her mission.
